Voice AI Feature — Data Collection and Third-Party Sharing
What data is collected
When you use the Voice Assistant feature, the app collects:
- •Voice audio — your speech is recorded from the device microphone as raw audio (16 kHz PCM) while a voice session is active.
- •Text transcriptions — your spoken words are converted to text by the AI service and returned to the app.
- •Session identifiers — an anonymous session ID used to maintain conversation context during the active session.
How data is collected
Audio is captured only while you are in an active voice session (after you tap the microphone button and explicitly accept the data notice). Recording stops as soon as the session ends or you leave the screen. No audio is recorded in the background.
How data is used
The collected audio and transcriptions are used solely to:
- •Generate AI-powered responses to your spoken queries.
- •Maintain conversation context within the active session.
The app does not store voice audio or transcriptions on-device or on Tapito's servers beyond the duration of the active session.
Third-party sharing — Google Gemini AI
Your voice audio is transmitted in real time to Google Gemini, an AI service operated by Google LLC, via Tapito's backend servers. Google processes the audio to generate responses.
Google's handling of data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and Google's Generative AI Additional Terms. Google provides equivalent or greater data protection standards in accordance with applicable law.
User consent
Before the voice feature is used for the first time, the app displays a clear notice identifying what data is sent and to whom, and requires your explicit acceptance. You may decline at any time by not using the voice feature.
Your rights
You may withdraw from use of the voice AI feature at any time by simply not initiating a voice session. No voice data persists after a session ends.
